    Senior Product Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in London, England
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Spotify (London, England).

    Was referred by an acquaintance.

This all happened during Covid 19 lock down.

Had an initial screening interview with the recruiter.

Then a few weeks later had 7 individual zoom interviews with a range of employees - some relatively new to the company, others had been there a few years. All very nice and warm people.

I was applying for a niche role in a new area for Spotify, and it became clear during the interview each interviewer had a completely different take on the role.

I heard back about a month after the interview from the recruiter who set up a 30 minute call to give me feedback - which I thought was nice, albeit a little unusual.

Apparently I got down to the last two for the role, and they opted for the other candidate.

However I was told to keep in touch incase there was head count.

The role has since been reposted only under a new job title.

Since I chased this up I’ve been ghosted both by the recruiter and the acquaintance who referred me.

Quite a waste of my time really!

  • The Spotify Wrapped Campaign is one of our largest marketing and social campaigns of the year. And as one of the few streaming platforms that has existed since before 2010, Spotify had a unique opportunity to be able to provide users with a review of their listening habits over the entire decade. Because Wrapped is such a massive effort, the Wrapped Team itself includes many sub-teams that are responsible for everything from marketing, legal, and design, to data, frontend and backend engineering. So, you know Wrapped, but do you know how Wrapped is made? Take a look at how this cultural phenomenon is built in our latest How It's Made episode!
