I had a delightful exchange and eventually a phone interview with a recruiter. She was lovely, and I genuinely enjoyed our time together. I was ultimately not a fit for the role, which the recruiter communicated by passing along the hiring manager's exact words - blunt, but hilarious. Despite not moving forward, I was left with a genuine affection for the company. 10/10, would apply and get roasted again.
