      Manager Interview

      17 Jun 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Wayfair (Berlin) in May 2021

      Interview

Interviews at Wayfair are well known for being long and tiring. Sometimes you need to talk to 4 or 5 people in a row, which is already absolutely ridiculous itself. I went through the entire process and assessment, and "luckily" I just talked to 3 people in a row, but the role process was tiring anyway. I talked once to recruiter and once with a manager, and after that, with 4 different team members (a case study with one of them), a total of SIX interviews. One of the interviewers was really impatient and rude, interrupting all the time and not letting me conclude my examples and experience. Just two of them really tried to get to know me and my experiences better, with the rest of them the interviews were only about "Tell me about a time...". Questions and answers, really strict. Before talking to these 3 people in a row, I kindly asked the recruiter that regardless the results, I would like to have an honest feedback, since this would be important for me as a job seeker. After this tiring, long and somehow harsh process, I received a negative feedback and an e-mail in which the recruiter said that if I would like to have a feedback I should schedule a call to talk to the recruiter............. After 6 hours talking to them, I should again try to find a time to schedule a call. Like what? Don't you have 5 minutes to write me an e-mail with a feedback, or what? I think they are trying to prove they are very meticulous/rigorous in the recruiting process, in an attempt to show the candidates that only if you perfect you'll get the job, but they haven't realized how exhausting and disrespectful it can be. They wanna show You need to be close to perfect to get it, otherwise, you won't get the job.

      Boston, MA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at Wayfair (Boston, MA)

      Interview

Meet with way too many people, all who asked me the same questions. I didn't get to ask questions, the cases they have are way too long and cumbersome to be done well in a 45 mins interview.
