2 month interview process, and a no show interviewee and no word from Wayfair.
Started off pretty standard. The first 2 rounds were straight forward. Phone screen, then meet with the hiring manager - good engaging conversation with both.
3rd round was a panel, so I had around 5 interviews with senior/executive leaders, and case study - took about 3ish hours, it was quite tiring. I connected very well with the various leaders I interviewed with. 2 of the senior leaders I met with, asked if I was open for other roles as my skillset was unique and seen to be beneficial for Wayfair. The last interview was the case study. The actual problem was relatively simple, but I found the format to be a challenge. On the spot shock & awe style for math caught me by surprise. Usually these case studies are given and submitted with a 24 hr turn around time versus to be solved on the spot.
Following this interview I reached out after a week and it was dead silence for 2 weeks until out of nowhere I received an email for a 4th interview.
Absolutely abysmal experience, and an embarrassment for a organization such as Wayfair to treat top candidates this way.
This interview was last minute rescheduled twice, within the hour of the interview, and at the final scheduled interview which I confirmed with the recruiter at 10am that morning with the link, and no one joined the call.
I called, emailed and texted the recruiter I was in contact with both during, and at the end and have heard nothing.
It's been a week since I had this no show experience, and I have heard nothing from Wayfair regarding an apology, any feedback, a declination, or even an attempt to reschedule.
After 2 months of an interview process, for a senior leadership role and a talent shortage this is absolutely unacceptable.
