I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA) in May 2011
Interview
There was an initial phone interview which was a quick 20 min chat about the role, general personality and interest questions. Nothing technical, more of a feel out. On site: Everyone was very nice, young, and straight forward. Questions were more behavioral as I didn't have much sales background. I interviewed with 3 people- all managers. They were straight forward about the role- sales, cold calls, quotas, tenacity and persistence are def qualities they are seeking.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
