      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Hiring manager asked me about current project role and responsibility , Its architecture , behavioral questions like challenge faced and how to handle bad subordinate . Asked me design two table and connect it to get h value from 2nd table etc. Interviewer was in hurry , throughout interview he kept repeating that he is in hurry to close interview. Although it was scheduled for 45 min but he closed it in 25 min. In my opinion interview was not prepared to take interview and distracted to evaluate me.He was not listening to my answer and cutting me whenever i wanted to explain deeper concept. Behavior for interviewer was not good, he was on power trip.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at eBay (Austin, TX) in Dec 2022

      Interview

GHOSTED, With A Dash Of Bias... First rounds were friendly, HR was very professional. I greatly enjoyed speaking with a senior-level manager whom would have been my supervisor. Sadly, I get the impression he really wanted to bring me aboard. I think I can say the same of a second senior-level manager, with whom I also conversed. HOWEVER, the same can not be said, of two of my panel interviewers, a senior-level director and an engineer / architect. The first interviewer spoke over me, aggressively and loudly, throughout our ENTIRE interview, and did not appear to understand my responses to her questions. Also, I don't think she prepared, at all, for our interview. The second interviewer's line of questioning was immediately antagonistic, when he discovered I didn't have a compsci degree (and failed to even notice my space tech and satellite training and background). He was clearly unprepared for a conversation about the actual role, or my background. There was not supposed to be coding or whiteboarding - they even disabled the Zoom whiteboard feature - but I was made to, by him, to find my own online whiteboard, for a part of the process which I was told was not even supposed to be. I want to expand a bit, about the entire compsci thing - I've covered that, voluntarily, during my career. Sorts, data structures, memory management, multithreading are all things I put myself through extensively. Despite this, there is still prejudice to deal with. I come from a lower class background, so, we don't all get to afford university. I have been a technical professional for 20 years. The first manager and I spoke a second time, at some extent, and it appeared as if they, indeed, wanted me there. Then? Nothing. Not even a form rejection email. If you don't have a compsci degree, move along to an employer who will value you, as a person, as well as what you can offer. BTW, eBay request Glassdoor feedback. Well, here you are. You're welcome.
