The role

We're looking for a Technical SIPP Lead to join our technical services team. Reporting to the Head of technical services, you'll work closely with Product, Operations, Commercial, Launch and Engineering to make sure the Seccl Personal Pension remains compliant, scalable and partner focused.

The team plays a key role in the development of our market leading SIPP and making sure that it, as well as our ISA and platform products, meet HMRC, FCA and The Pensions Regulator requirements. You'll bring specialist SIPP expertise, support the development of a more automated pension proposition and help us deliver strong outcomes for our partners and their customers.

On a typical day you will be…

• Providing specialist SIPP expertise and guidance to teams across Seccl and our partner firms

• Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and assessing their impact on our pension and savings products

• Supporting the future ongoing development and automation of the market leading Seccl Personal Pension proposition

• Drafting and maintaining process flows, procedures, policies and customer communications

• Managing regulatory collateral including illustrations, declarations, key features documents and terms and conditions

• Overseeing ISA and SIPP regulatory reporting to ensure submissions are accurate and completed on time

• Supporting the design and launch of new pension propositions in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practice

• Providing technical oversight on high-risk operational tasks, SIPP due diligence and regulatory submissions

• You have extensive knowledge of SIPP products and pension regulation

• You have a strong understanding of HMRC rules, pensions legislation and regulatory guidance

• You are confident interpreting complex regulatory requirements and turning them into practical business solutions

• You understand the Pensions Tax Manual and how it applies in practice

• You are skilled at influencing stakeholders and championing regulatory best practice

• You take ownership, make informed decisions and are comfortable working independently

• You have excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving

• You have a continuous improvement mindset and enjoy strengthening processes and controls

• You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you’ll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you’ll be expected to shape your own progression

Interview process

Interviewing is a two-way thing, and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you. Our interviews are conversational, so come with questions and be curious. In general, you can expect the interview process to look a bit like this, (following an initial chat with one of our Talent team):

• First stage – 45 mins competencies-based interview with the hiring manager

• Second stage – one-hour technical interview or assessment with a few members of the wider team

• Final stage – 45 mins bar-raiser culture-based interview
