Continue readingWe are really sorry to hear that your experience has not felt great at Brightside and this was certainly not our intention. Particularly, as we pride ourselves on being a great place to work for all of our employees. Unfortunately, the Covid situation has had a detrimental impact on certain roles in our business. In particular, we were faced with having to operate and adapt to a fundamentally different physical working environment as part of our business continuity plan. Fortunately, we were able to maintain service and retain around 90% of our employees in virtual employment. Sadly, there were a very small number of roles that we were unable to operate virtually due to the nature of the role and it was for this reason that we had no alternative but to use the Furlough scheme. This was done largely to protect jobs and to ensure that we could continue to pay those individuals for as long as possible. We also made the decision to pay a 20% top up to the Furlough scheme so that our employees could maintain 100% of earnings for as long as possible.
