Pros

Great Portfolio of commercial and clinical program. Nearly all promotions are white woman (great if you are a white woman, not so much if not).

Cons

Much of the work is siloed and culture is slow, committee driven and focused on deadlines and fire fighting. No time for anything else. Not fun to work at. Many people are under paid. Many talented, intelligent people worked at Amgen long ago and left years ago, only people left are those that never could leave or won't get a better position elsewhere. Full time positions are often expected to hire many contract workers to perform routine work. CEO is an ex-Wall St Banker and has implemented 10% budget cuts per year for over 7 years. Yes, Amgen was bloated 7 years ago and needed some capital reallocation, but now the organizations and workloads are squeezed.

Pros

Excellent compensation, benefits, and career development opportunities. Strong investment in innovation, patient-focused mission, and world-class manufacturing capabilities. The New Albany site offers exposure to complex biologics operations, large-scale capital projects, and opportunities to work alongside talented and dedicated professionals committed to delivering medicines to patients.

Cons

The culture and leadership experience became increasingly inconsistent during the last year. Decision-making often lacked transparency, priorities shifted frequently, and employee feedback did not always appear to be valued. The people-centered culture that attracted many long-tenured employees seemed to drift, resulting in reduced trust, lower engagement, and increased organizational uncertainty.
