Pros
- Good work life balance if this is your sole aim - Have a strong international brand (Europe especially) which is heavily relied on when trying to win business - Some very good individuals but there numbers are curtailing
Cons
Leadership clean out required The leadership has clearly passed their sell by date and has no idea on what they want their organization to be good at now and in the future and will therefore not invest in anything. Their roles are more akin to recruitment consultants managing spreadsheets and calling Project Managers to place 1 consultant here and 1 consultant there with no regard to the needs and wants of the client or the consultants career development. Wait your turn performance management Promotion based on time in grade rather than performance which breeds incompetence. Also causing high performers to leave due to the frustration of having to wait their turn. ‘Shut up & put up’ culture For a company that prides itself on honesty, trust and collaboration, Capgemini could not be further away from practicing these values currently. Leadership and management will make decisions about peoples careers without consulting anybody who is effected then expect them not to share feedback or have grievances. Rock bottom prices with any solution you want The organization will sell and promise anything to a client just so the car salesman responsible for selling the consulting services can hit their sales target. When the project cannot be resourced properly the project either fails or the resourced consultants have to break their backs to meet client expectations. This happens regularly.
