Pros

Truly global business, mobility for talented people, trend setters, rooted in ethics and best practice. Moving towards an integrated model, successfully. Smart people. Efficient and lean business, no room for wastage and laziness.

Cons

Competitive, people don't form deep friendships or socialize at work, can be difficult to keep ownership of account and shine, unless you're prepared to work a 50 hour week. As in all agencies I'be worked in management focuses on consumer and more corporate led practices take a back seat. True thinkers are often shouted over.

Thank you for your very thoughtful review and I'm glad you enjoy working at Edelman. We are always looking at ways to provide recognition to our employees at all levels, in different practices and with different personality types. It's the diversity of our people and their individual strengths that make us who we are. Maria O'Keeffe, Executive Director, US HR

Pros

I worked with some of the brightest and best people in the business. Most of them are no longer with the company. Some good clients, and nice office space.

Cons

Very limited opportunities for growth. During my time they reduced promotions to only once a year, and made many excuses for promoting as few people as possible (despite becoming the first "$1B" agency at that time). Morale was extremely low. People were forced to come into an office with nobody they actually worked with. Common to be passed from manager to manager. At one point I had 6+ managers within a 10-month span.
