Pros

The value to society by having third-party companies like Intertek test manufacturers products to ensure they are safe for consumers. UL and TUV do a much better job at this than Intertek does. Intertek cuts corners and is always looking for ways to cut costs vs. delivering a superior service.

Cons

The lack of leadership at the executive level is horrible. They consistently make quick immature decisions and have no clear path on a long term direction. Executive leadership does not value their employees or customers. It is all about turning a buck every 30 days. This has created a horrible culture to work in and continues to get worse each year.

Pros

Good group of people in local office.

Cons

Stuck in the past. Unwilling to consider updating methods or procedures. "We've done it this way for 30 years and it has worked." Sales relies upon project engineers to do most of their work for them. When volume of work is slow that becomes the engineers responsibility to go find new clients. Can't reliably pay the most basic of utility bills on time. I've seen the power cut off 2x and the gas this past winter.
