Pros
There are some lovely people at Intertek, these people are frequently taken advantage of by "management".
Cons
Management, as many here have said, have no idea how to manage. They skew data to meet unrealistic targets and throw those below them under the bus; there's a reason employee turnover is high. Your work ethic and skills are not appreciated or valued and, if management feels threatened by you or their job is at risk, they will not hesitate to pile unachievable work on you inorder to force you out as the fall guy. I should point out that this doesn't apply if you are related to management, then you are not only protected, but often promoted (there are a lot of family ties here). Resources and staff are cut frequently leaving vastly under staffed, under equipt teams. These teams are, however, still expected to hit the ridiculous monthly company targets; inevitably when this doesn't happen because of the aforementioned cutbacks, management uses poor performance as the justification for not getting more staff. First class logic there, I think we can all agree. There is no loyalty, no respect, no appreciation and very little training. The company is poor to the core. Management claim that Intertek are global leaders, however, they have been surviving on reputation for a number of years now. Truth be told, the company is lacking in all of the keys areas and this is a direct result of incompetent, unskilled, and unprofessional management that use a once great company as their personal playground.
