    I worked at Gap full-time

    Pros

Your work colleagues is the best thing about working here, they really got you through the day. I loved the social aspect of working on the retail floor.

    Cons

The upper management sometimes appeared so out of of touch, so easy to complain about tasks but offer no support.

    Advice to Management

Listen to ALL levels of staff, whether they are the part-time sales associates or store manager. Do not dismiss our opinion or value just because we are not management.

I worked at Gap part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was an easy job, decent hours for what I wanted at the time, a nice team to work with, amazing discount in Gap and Gap Outlets, 50% off full price stock.
It's a decent retail job, would recommend to anyone who enjoys working in retail.

    Cons

I had four managers, the store manager was nice enough if not a bit cold at times.
I never worked with one of the other managers, got on well with another, and one seemed to hate everything and everyone, they had a really poor working relationship with everyone, avoided interacting at all costs, didn't really have much customer service either. Also, one of my colleagues was doing the job of a floor manager but at the time was only getting paid minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

Generally they should just respect their colleagues and customers a bit more, try and be a bit more human.

I worked at Gap (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked with nice people on the most part
My store was shut on sundays and closed early on saturdays, huge benefit especially for retail

    Cons

Management can take it all a bit too seriously
Have to ask customers so many thing - about the app, email receipt, sign up to emails, fill out the survey, can be annoying for customers and employees
Managers tried to force us to wear GAP clothing but we had to buy it ourselves which i think is out of order

    Pros

Great discount, big company and lots of great people to meet and develop with

Little pay increase for management, not valued for amount of work you fit in to 40 hours, job roles changed without consultations therefore expectations were greater for the same pay.
