    Pros

I worked at Gap part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The employees are very lovely and they are the reason I wanted to stay. Management was lovely (if they liked you), on a day were the right manager was working, the store ran smoothly, no miscommunication.

    Cons

The company is just disorganised. There was a lack of communication between managers with regards to what needed to be done in store. The workload was unnecessarily too much because there was a lack of planning, a lot of confusion, just a big mess.

    Advice to Management

Be more organised, use the communication skills to plan more effective ways for the store to run smoothly

    Pros

Great vibe, trusted to do your job, dynamic

    Cons

Processes are a bit old school and slow, inverse pyramid leadership structure

I have been working at Gap part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay for young people as it’s way higher than minimum wage

    Cons

If you are 17 / 18 you aren’t as respected as older people there , they expect you to be amazing when you first join and there is little to no respect . Rotas are frequently fitted to managers and key holders and then everyone else is out in where they can be fitted in - highly unfair .

    Advice to Management

    Treat everyone equally .

I have been working at Gap part-time

    Pros

    - 50% Discount
    - Generally friendly customers
    - Lovely colleagues

    Cons

    - Strict management
    - Not a fun environment to work at
    - Late closing hours (between 9:30 & 11 depending on the branch)

    Advice to Management

Be friendlier to staff - it will trickle down to customers. Being rude and mean will not make staff work harder, it reduces the desire to go above and beyond. Most staff will end up doing the bare minimum as a result of poor treatment.
