    I worked at Gap part-time

    Pros

Customer care; you leave on time.

    Cons

Too much folding. Also, the fact that we sold 2000GBP of goods at date X of year Y, dosn't mean it is a realistic goal that we MUST sell over 2000GBP at the same date X of year Y+1. How was that decision taken, I am really curious.

    Advice to Management

Please, do not play the same music over and over for 5 years. Please.
And hire that extra person, will you.

    I worked at Gap part-time

    Pros

    1) I'm 16 and got the job so easily even before getting my GCSE results over summer. I had volunteering and a week full-time's worth of work experience all relevant to retail, but I know many other people who applied didn't have any experience at all. I was surprised at how easy the interview was, the questions were very typical - what you're hoping to get out of it, why you want to work for Gap specifically.
    2) The pay is very good - 7.50 an hour which can go up any time.

    Cons

    1) MANAGEMENT - it wasn't great; they gave you either little to not hours or way too many. I resigned because they put me to do longer hours than expected and even when I asked to shorten them they were frustrated because they're constantly understaffed.
    2) HARD - because it was constantly understaffed (e.g. for closing shifts i.e. cleaning the entire shop after the day, only 5-6 people would be working while they told us they needed at least 11.
    3) There's little to no training - you have no idea what you're doing or trying to achieve. I did so many things wrong because they didn't tell me how to do anything.

    I worked at Gap full-time

    Pros

Your work colleagues is the best thing about working here, they really got you through the day. I loved the social aspect of working on the retail floor.

    Cons

The upper management sometimes appeared so out of of touch, so easy to complain about tasks but offer no support.

    Advice to Management

Listen to ALL levels of staff, whether they are the part-time sales associates or store manager. Do not dismiss our opinion or value just because we are not management.
