Pros

Literally none at this point. Beware of old reviews.

Cons

Hotjar used to be a wonderful company, but don't be fooled by the old reviews, the mentions of perks (in the process of being reviewed/taken away), and the good scores for the company and the (first, founding) CEO. Just take a look at the downward trend of the scores. All of this good is now completely gone and has been replaced by a company that couldn't care less for its own employees. The acquisition by Contentsquare played a big role but it's not the only factor. Stay away.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we're very sorry to read that you've had a negative experience. As part of our efforts to make our organization more competitive and resilient in the long term, we have launched a strategic restructuring initiative. Unfortunately, that meant taking the painful step of reducing our workforce — a decision that was not taken lightly. We are open to continuing the conversation, if you feel comfortable and if you wish. You can reach out directly to me at carolina.veiga@hotjar.com and your feedback will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Thank you, Carolina

Pros

There's a ton...100% remote workplace. Hotjar does not care where you work. The management team realizes people work best when they are trusted, empowered and comfortable. There's also some amazing perks like 40 days of paid leave a year, a home office budget, company retreats and more. My co-workers are wicked smart and our product is amazing. It's an amazing place to work.

Cons

Because we're 100% remote it can sometimes be hard to get in contact with the person you're trying to connect with when you're trying to connect with them. They could be on the other side of the world. We've got the tools in place to facilitate this but it takes some getting used to.

Pros

- Work on an industry-leading product that customers really love - Incredible perks - Brilliant approach to work/life balance - Bootstrapped no investors calling the shots - Career plans that actually help you grow - Fulfilling work with wonderful teammates

Cons

It's not uncommon for new starters to feel a bit of imposter syndrome. Hotjar is packed with super-intelligent people, and this can be a little intimidating, but that soon passes.
