Pros

Decent Corporate Culture Vibe Quarterly Rewards (Sometimes)

Cons

Here I m sharing my personal experience with Shiksha (Info Edge) in XYZ (CO. & ED.) Team, having an experience of approx. more than 3 years. Giving review is not enough for People to know about the Workplace and Company insights but somewhere it can give u an Idea. People can have their own different views or opinions or experiences on any of the mentioned point. We all have a different journey, this review includes mine. Each department has some pros and cons depending on its management both the Middle level Management and the top level management...which affect the low level management in +ve or -ve ways. Talking about my personal experience in shiksha, It was so bad I can ever think of.... As we all know that politics r everywhere nd its depends on us how we tackle them...but sometimes it can intentionally nd brutally affects you if u become a competition for some people there. Working Environment & Work Culture: Work Pressure:- Work pressure is too high My Experience:- Worked on almost all the weekends...but still achieved negative reviews and less ratings after a particular time. Work Type:- Similar Work Pattern, u will get bored soon, Innovation is a myth here (Un-necessary Pressure is a truth), different teams targets different aspect and area... Some on content, some on events, some on edits, some on traffic. My Experience- Average. (My expectations here were not high). Salary Increment and Promotions:- No Promotions at all except that u will get Permanent role from a Particular period of temporary role. You will get your 1st increment good, 2nd increment if u r lucky and then going on no increment at all (Intentionally u will be downgraded by showing your bad performances and bad reviews). My Experience:- have not got promoted in these many years even once (not even in the "Name" of designation just by removing some old keywords...but yes your role and responsibilities will go high). Have got only increment in first appraisal as okay, then no increments were there... Colleagues in the same team is getting as much pay within having just few months of experience as I was getting. (were doing less work than me and had less process knowledge than me) Two of the Colleague were getting much higher pay (had less experience than me) at same level of work and designation. Got to know when he and she left the office. Spouse in same company will get much higher pay (If one of them is appointed at higher level- (Internal Politics)). NOTE: Promotions has no link with increase in Salary (Something new I got to know here) Behavioural Culture and Treatment :- (Relatable to my experience) - Respect: Only if u do work according to the management. By showing a slight change in your Personality, Opinions or your own POV , u can become victim of their internal Politics. You may experience disrespect in a professional manner. - There is a group of People who thinks that they run the whole shiksha and thats why they will do whatever they wanna do with their employees. - I often felt that communication lacked transparency. It can be a Strategy too. - If u r working here, your individuality will go away once u highlighted in people's eye even because of gud work/ hard work/ smart work/ any way you prefer to do your work. - Personally Target, taking interest in your personal life, false gossiping and portraying your negative image in all the corners, Misunderstandings and not clearing that, this happens here. U can't keep your personal life personal if u do not fit on the parameters on these intelligent people. - Treating like an honourable person to treating like u don't matter for the company, all depends on their mood and situations, no matter how good or respectable u r with them and how honest u r with your company and your work. At times, I felt undervalued despite my commitment and hard work and u r now not an asset for them. Just because you r working at low level and not included in their favourites. -Nepotism, showing off, double faced people, nd double standards, all this happens here. - Anytime they can Questions on your Honesty and your loyalty to the company. - Do not think about friendship and making bonds here...if u r unlucky this will also be snatched. People here are mostly driven by their own interests, and if you're a fresher expecting to build connections, it will be challenging because the environment doesn’t encourage it. - Excessive and constant Micromanagement and sometimes nano management can mess with your mental clarity and confidence and makes it difficult to work with a clear mind, create unnecessary stress and frustration, impact your productivity and well-being, sometimes work environment can be extremely overwhelming. - The level of toxicity on the floor was excessive and unmanageable. - Company Plays strategies (Anytime), Lay offs (Can't say on it coz it depends on profit or loss), sudden lay off without even prior notice, can insult u even on a smallest mistake. - Sometimes personal grudges are disguised as professionalism, and it ends up affecting your work. Overall professionalism is not consistently maintained. - Suggestions of only personal favourite employees will be taken. Same goes with Rewards and appreciations. - Sometimes useless meetings and non impactful decisions and calls taken just for maintaining the records. - Nothing is anonymous (Some surveys for company review). - No one is trustworthy. Don't share anything personal. Your closest one can also reveal important things too when it comes to them or we can say everything is situational. - If Upper Management is already frustrated then their frustration comes to u people (can be ignore it happens everywhere). - Overall so much Internal Politics. - No action will be taken even u complain the HR or any senior manager. HR was not gud at all...not supportive. - Disagreements sometimes felt personal rather than professional just to show that something is working on upper level. - The presence of a husband–wife duo in the same group/ team/ department/ office/ company often leads to favoritism and unequal treatment. - I faced many intentional and unnecessary actions lead by some other team. I reported, yet the issue persisted. -There is more toxicity than one can imagine, and it becomes especially challenging if you're competitive, driven, and not politically inclined. The atmosphere is filled with unnecessary pressure micromanaging and internal politics that make even a normal workday feel suffocating. Instead of teamwork, there is fear, competition, and constant comparison. If you are a straightforward, hardworking, non-political person, this place can break you emotionally. - Bias and favoritism are deeply rooted. Certain groups and internal connections showed biased behavior toward certain employees and targets u if u r competitive and personally downgrades you and unnecessary and irrelevant allegations can be put on you. - Some experiences were deeply distressing and difficult to express fully here. Highlights: - Conflicts with people who may not favor you can sometimes lead to unfair deductions or financial implications. They put their frustration on you by doing this. (for any employee this is not acceptable) - Planning, Shadowing your achievements, highlighting your flaws nd mistakes, Undermining performance, Manipulating perception, Creating false narratives (notice this), Gaslighting when confronted, unnecessarily mails, unnecessary feedbacks (just because u r targeted)- Yes, this happens here. - These are only the noticeable issues; a deeper look reveals even more. I’m truly thankful to myself for choosing to leave this job. I chose my dignity and self-respect, even though a few people tried to challenge it, instead of choosing greed. - Female staff seem to be paid less compared to others, suggesting a degree of gender-based inequality. Have seen in my team as well. While I am familiar with how corporate policies work, many things here felt completely unnecessary and caused additional, avoidable stress. These issues are real and cannot be ignored. I experienced significant emotional distress due to the behaviour of certain teams and individuals. Some of the things happens in almost all work places. One Personal comment: (Just leave your own life Principles outside) It will always depend on your mindset how u come in the company and then experience will be yours... It was the actions of few employees that pushed me to write this review. Everything is true written in this review. I have personally experienced all of this...I don't prefer taking names or shaming people publicly that's why I haven't take any employee's name. Few more things and situations were happened which were more worst then what I wrote. Apart from these negative points, some good moments were also there with my own manager and my team mates. For the coming employees; We all have different Journey, different experiences so take your own decisions based on your personal Intelligence but in my opinion, Please don't come here, u will not get any kind of career growth (Practical working and skills) from here apart from a fixed salary, a nyc infra and a corporate experience. All the best...!!!
