Pros
Location is good for those nearby.
Cons
Owner doesn't see reality. She admits that she hates technology but at the same time runs a technology company. As a result she forces decisions that do not make sense in today's technology landscape and refuses external suggestions from her team that other technology business have implemented and found success in. She is too stuck on "how things used to be", "we've never done it that way before" and her own personal life and it's drama (which she drags into the workplace, if she ever decides to show up). She blames everyone else other than herself when things go wrong, even yelling at staff at times. If you need a job it's OK but dont stop looking even if you get hired. I am surprised the business hasn't crumbled yet. Pay is also below the 10th percentile for the area.
Pros
Good for work experience, not the best since its heavily revolved around their VoIP platform(s). Microsoft admin experience, ticketing system, Remote access, etc. IT Manager was helpful when in need, good advice, wisdom and can be laid back/strict at the same time which is a great balance Employees were friendly & definitely work hard beyond means You get a nice chair if you work in the IT department
Cons
Advice for the new techs. You are going to make mistakes... and that is okay.. but not to upper management. (owner & her son) Management overcriticizes work when things go south and REALLY dig it in with the finger pointing for a failure with no real resolution. They'll have meetings and you can definitely hear them talking about you. Not discreet at all. Toxic environment and once you're on the **** list, you don't get out. They don't really train you, I had to ask my co workers a lot of questions just to somewhat feel competent. The customer satisfaction reviews you get, DO NOT mean a single thing for the employee.. unless you like patting yourself on the back. Do not expect a raise.. your accomplishments won't mean a thing here and your value as an employee is below the bar. They'll look at your mistakes first and foremost and use it as an excuse. Get the experience and go if you don't get a raise after 6-12 months. There's definitely better stuff out there that is less stressful and pays more.
Pros
Most of the employees are friendly and hard-working.
Cons
ITS is basically a mom-and-pop shop. Correction mom-and-son shop lacking leadership and management skills quickly pointing fingers and blaming others for their constant failures creating a very toxic environment. They cannot do their own self-appointed positions and try to meddle in other departments with la ack of trust. If they decide to come into the office, they are usually the last to come in and the first to leave by a good hour or two. The unfortunate employees have to deal with a lack of training, constant ownership criticisms, layoffs, and being short, or for this year, not paid sales commissions.
