    Recommends

I have been working at NHS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Always busy. Constantly challenging. Everyday is different. Great career opportunities. Flexible shifts. Over time and unsociala me hours enhancements. Supportive management. Good annual leave and sick pay policy. Rewarding work. Team moral

    Cons

Often short staffed. Long hours and sometimes too busy to have a break or eat. Physically hard on your body, back, knees, feet. Awful scrubs uniform, being back the tunics and dresses 😊

    Advice to Management

I’m extremely proud to have been a cog in the wheel of such a committed and selfless organisation. I have worked with a number of great teams, from the domestics to the matrons and am truly in awe of every single person that puts their blood, sweat and tears into providing members of the public their very best standard of care.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

I have been working at NHS part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Job satisfaction, supportive community, CPD opportunities, ample training opportunities, provided with uniform, subsidised restaurant, onsite coffee shop, patient contact opportunities.

    Cons

Antiquated record keeping systems - mainly paper based, financially contributory onsite car parking, high levels of staff turnover, low pay rates, strongly hierarchical management structure

    Advice to Management

Management must strongly implement and promote a positive restorative approach to dealing with internal and patient conflict. It should also promote a culture of proactive recognition of achievements for both formally assigned tasks and those which spontaneously arise.
