Pros

Interesting selection of snacks

Cons

My manager went ballistic when I was 3 minutes late to his meeting on my 2nd day of employment. He flew off the handle because I did not memorize where the conference rooms are at. I told him that they really should make it easier by providing maps, clearly indicating it in MS outlook rather than labeling a room "Tesla1" which they have 4 buildings. Then I was insulted, threatened to be fired, and screamed at for not having my long term and short term goals clearly specified. Never mind that the manager should guide an employee that information.

Bullying management

Pros

They have some decent snacks and beverages. My manager tried to improve workflow processes. Unfortunately the engineers who had been there a while didn't want them improved.

Cons

I was told I wasn't meeting performance goals but wasn't given performance goals to meet. When I asked what they were I was told to come up with my own. When I pointed out I was contributing more than other members of my team, they removed my access to see what others were working on. FYI they most definitely are listening/watching employees through their laptops. My manager would respond to things I had said the previous day in front of my laptop and could hear what I said while muted on Zoom. I'm pretty sure they spied on me and my girlfriend when I was working from home. My team lead was scared of the CTO, who would walk around glaring at engineers since he only knows hardware and thinks software is slacking off. Stay far far away. They expect you to be grateful for the opportunity while bullying and discriminating.

Pros

Super great Technology. You will learn a lot. Very nice people (mostly) and the technology is cutting edge for Radio therapy for Cancer. Patients are being treated right now at Stanford and soon, other sites. Well organized and good support. Good medical coverage. Pay is slightly above average.

Cons

No bonuses (only for a lucky few). Stock grants are poor for most, excessive for Directors. There are 1 director for each 7 employees.. many with no direct reports. Lateral job movement is very rare... transfer to other groups rarely happens (and thus, you're stuck doing what you're hired for). Little information to the rank and file about $$ in the back or the Burn Rate. Good news shouted out in meetings, bad news.. never happened. ** Seams many of these postings are SHORT (too short) and probably management trying to give the company "5 stars" ... Slack messaging rarely stops.. on weekends/night you get messages.
