I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

I'm incredibly thankful that I got the chance to pursue my passion as a career with SCC. Opportunities in this field are limited, so it's great that I not only landed a gig, but also that it was with a company that is making it easy for me to succeed.

    Cons

Every project poses a new problem to solve.

I have been working at SCC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Supportive management within team
    Great team
    Wide capability and skill set

    Cons

Outside of my team everyone has own agenda and can lead to conflict
As a result process can be slow
Often no differentiation from our competitors

    Advice to Management

The structure does not allow collaborative working across depts - each are targeted differently or have own p&l. This creates issues when working outside of my own team. Working together towards an overall goal would seem a better approach...but the business is successful and thats what matters

I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

Management does a good job of making our day to day work as simple and enjoyable as possible, and our team is first class. The talented people I work with make my job easier every day. The experience looks great on any resume as well.

    Cons

The deadlines can be pretty strict. I wouldn't complain if the stress levels were a little lower.

I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

One of maybe two places I've ever worked that I can say that I'm confident management has my best interests in mind. It's obvious the steps they take to make our jobs easier and to help us out when workloads are high. Helps make the job a lot more rewarding.

    Cons

I'm on my feet more than I'd like.

I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

Handy if you live in a really horrible part of Birmingham and you enjoy dodging joy riders on a main road

    Cons

Difficult to know where to begin. I guess the blame culture is top, expect no support when you are trying to make a decision and a shed-load of grief when you get it wrong. If you think training, career progression , flexible working or respect from management is important you are looking in the wrong place.

    Advice to Management

I have seen several GOOD people bullied out of the business because they tried to improve things when your long standing management team did not approve. Sack them - get in some people who care.

I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to showcase your strengths and take responsibility within the company. Also to learn new skills. Have really enjoyed my time here so far and am confident that it's supremely prepared me for the next step of my career, whether it be here or somewhere else.

    Cons

Very strict about showing up on time to shifts. Too strict IMO.

    "Donald Trump is in charge"

I have been working at SCC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The positive reviews are written in quick succession - They say things like this is the best company I have ever worked for, They never explain why - read the ones NOT written by Marketing that explain what it's really like.

    Cons

No training. No pay rises. No recognition. Management rule through fear. Extreme prejudice, nepotism, favouritism, blame culture. Two members of the C-Level management team are married to each other, if they decide your face doesn't fit your life will not be worth living

    Advice to Management

Conduct an anonymous employee satisfaction survey. Acknowledge the problems and address them rather than getting Marketing to fudge the satisfaction score on Glassdoor.

I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

Genuine people. Uppers take the time to get to know us and actually care about our perspective. Pay seems to be competitive and the benefits are good and increase over time. The best thing is that I actually enjoy the work so I never feel like the day is a drag. The people around me have a big part to do with that, too.

    Cons

    A tad straightforward at times.
