    I worked at SCC full-time

    Pros

Great business model & alot of parking....

    Cons

SMT only care about profits & impressing the Rigby Family.
If your not 'in' with the right people, you are not cared about - just an employee number
Account Managers have too much power & fully abuse the internal team, who can never seem to progress

    Advice to Management

Be fair - people work hard yet you make them feel inferior if one slight mistake made

I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

Good culture and capability in pockets when it can be found. Breadth of capability is comprehensive allowing growth with existing customer base.

    Cons

Lacking strategy and the cohesion and leadership to execute upon it in the commercial sector. Internal and external communication lacking with capability not maximised as a result for customers.

    Advice to Management

A clear strategy and the leadership to deliver against it is sorely needed. Structural change needed for cross function capability to deliver real customer value.

I have been working at SCC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It’s where people go when they’ve been fired from everywhere else.

    Cons

It’s a trailing edge company at best, just for the benefit of a few senior directors and the family.

    Advice to Management

Sell your business, put your feet up and relax. Then watch the new buyer rip every layer of management out because they are incompetent and lack vision

I have been working at SCC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy to get a job at scc, they are desperate
    Paid on time

    Cons

    No proper training.

scc doesn't care about its staff at all

    treated like dirt

bonuses given to some departments amount to an average wage only if you are a top performer every month of the year

8 days sick pay then straight to ssp (and straight to hr to explain why you had time off)
23 days holiday, 25 only after 5 years service

    no pay rises

appraisals are a waste of time, just copy and paste last years, no proper targets

    Advice to Management

It's sad that you spend so much time and effort pretending scc is such a lovely family business when it just is NOT!!

If you manage to fool people into taking a job, they will soon find out the truth and the good staff will leave, this is what has been happening over the last few years creating a really bad lack of skill in the company.

    WAKE UP!!!

I worked at SCC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Easy jobs
Unqualified management are easy to manipulate
The collective hatred for the management brings the staff together

    Cons

    Poor pension.

    Poor pay.

SCC is the most unprofessional company I have ever heard of, never mind worked for

SCC is run from the top, management are just there to carry out orders and take the blame when it inevitably all goes wrong.

Customers and staff are treated with contempt.

No pay rises, if you get an appraisal it’s always overdue and they start by telling you there is no money available for a pay rise.

No incentive to excel, just do what you need to do and stop.

    Mind numbingly boring.

Poor office conditions, broken furniture, dirty break rooms, awful toilets.

Seriously depressing working environment and jobs.

No chance of promotion or progression, some people have been doing the same job for 20 years+.

    23 days annual leave.

    Only 8 days paid sickness.

No valid training, they are scared of training staff properly because they know you will leave when qualified, I did a few days training and passed an exam they more or less forced me to cheat.

Poor communication between management and staff and between departments, different teams are working against each other.

Blame culture, management point out any small mistake you make, but never praise your positive achievements.

Bullying management are so scared of their superiors they bully staff to produce the required figures.

    No bonus.

Massive staff turnover, don’t bother making any friends, if they have any sense they will leave asap

    Advice to Management

I truly don’t know what to say, you know how bad it is at SCC, yet you do nothing to even attempt to make things better so you clearly don’t care one bit for the welfare of your staff, pretty depressing situation really.
