I have been working at SCC part-time

    Pros

Successful stable business with a long term view
    Recognition for positive contributions
Individual teams and colleagues work well together

    Cons

Staff Parking - although free parking is available there is limited availability
Although we do have a holiday buy and sell scheme, if a further increase in holiday entitlement could be considered after ten years service, this would be a positive for many long serving employees

I worked at SCC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked at SCC in my first year as a service delivery director and as a service delivery manager after the reshuffle in the second year, and whilst there met and worked with some absolutely superb staff. In addition, in just those 2 years, I learned more technically speaking that in my 15 years at Citigroup and Bell Integration. Also, some of the customers were excellent as well. So overall a few good positives.

    Cons

Sadly the bullying senior management were also present. So bad were they that staff left and still leave in their droves, despite them being just the sort SCC needs to retain. Also, those senior managers were guilty of destroying customer relationships to the extent whereby those customers would leave. I personally worked on 2 customer sites where the senior managers were detested by customers. Customers we should have been wooing. And this is tragicwhen one considers the loss of reputation along with the loss of revenue when it could so easily have been very different.

    Advice to Management

Take a good hard look at those senior managers and remove them from both customer contact and staff management. Employ staff who are good at managing both customers and colleagues and you will see the results eventually.

I have been working at SCC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Starting on a positive note, the staff in the in-house restaurant are lovely. Not sure how Sir Peter would view them slipping me that extra rasher from time to time. The food's not bad and the prices are reasonable.

    Cons

When eating at Restaurant SCC bear in mind the portions may sustain you but won't make you fat. If you ever fell one of those "Oliver Twist" moments coming on then be careful, if you are lucky you will be wasting your time, if not your card will be marked.
If you like interesting food with plenty of variety then the beige diet of repetitive monotony of most roles may not be to your taste.
The vitamins and minerals for healthy development that are provided by coaching and training are pretty thinly spread too.
Don't ask for a menu. eat what you are given. Challenging the head waiter can get you more that a portion of chef's special sauce.
The ambience is an unusual mix of fear and resignation.
    Bon Appetit.

    Advice to Management

Spice up the menu. Get some new senior waiting staff. Consider your employees for a change.

I have been working at SCC full-time

    Pros

There are good working relationships at all levels, i.e. Director, Senior Management and Board Level. Great Business to work for because they are currently growing.

    Cons

You become so involved in the task, that the time goes so quickly.

    I worked at SCC full-time

    Pros

Great business model & alot of parking....

    Cons

SMT only care about profits & impressing the Rigby Family.
If your not 'in' with the right people, you are not cared about - just an employee number
Account Managers have too much power & fully abuse the internal team, who can never seem to progress

    Advice to Management

Be fair - people work hard yet you make them feel inferior if one slight mistake made
