I have been working at Teradata full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Rapidly evolving and dynamic organisation that is positioning itself front and centre of the current Big Data and Analytics revolution. the change is fast paced and exciting...

    Cons

The pace and speed of change, may not be to everyone's taste. But if you want to be part of the next revolution then this is likely the place for you. If not then you should perhaps look elsewhere...

    Advice to Management

Keep changing as you are - keep evolving as you are and keep taking people with you - as you are. It's never easy, but great to see that you are doing all of these

I have been working at Teradata full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None to think of at the moment

    Cons

So many to list. This company is self destructing. Do not go work there as you will regret it. Other blogs highlight the layoffs happening globally. Search The Layoffs and look at the entries for Teradata. Many from current employees. Key point is that this company has no future.

    Advice to Management

Retire and bring in real leaders

I have been working at Teradata full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work-life balance, nice benefits, good salary.

    Cons

Senior management should retire and direct the ship in a different direction. They had an excellent card to play by acquiring a smaller DS oriented consultancy which they wasted, and with it loads of people left.

    I worked at Teradata full-time

    Pros

Salary, compensation, seeing for the 1st time in my life how an organisation should not be run.

    Cons

    Everything except salary.
    Management, recruitment, resourcing, strategy.

    Advice to Management

    1.Be honest.
    2. Your 'be the clients trusted advisor' message combined with your 'Tcore' message is not achievable and leaves employees in a compromising position in front of clients
    3. Lay off the right people.
    4. There are far too many skivers who have been employed and are still being retained. Yet layoffs of really good people. Madness.

I have been working at Teradata full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great tech and people, good employer at most levels of the company. Management is trying to be transparent and move to new ways of selling to drive business. Independent analyst ratings are always very good.

    Cons

History of old boys club mentality, although there has been an influx of new leaders, the old management remains largely, and these leaders slept through the change occurring in the industry and the current generation are paying a hefty price. Great tech, people and independent analysts reviews, but the revenue continues to decline.

    Advice to Management

Great product company but learn new ways of selling, incentivise sales when deciding new strategies. Remove the last of the old school management which is still running the place into the ground. New leaders from within as well as outside leaders are desperately needed. New vision in place but no one to execute.
