Pros

Nice office, good location. exposure to a wide range of tasks, opportunity to learn.

Cons

As a former worldremit employee, I use TransferWise... Worldremit product is better and cheaper, but I can not stomach to give them a penny. Horrible company culture, inept HR department, inept management on CS. Very clique place, career development is mostly about politics. Bullies are rewarded, and smart people run away. They can get profitable because CS is huge, and that's because the product have problems, which drive complaints to the roof... What worldremit did? Fix the problems, bring people with new ideas? Nop, They got old fashioned people, with conservative ideas. Start saving money the wrong way... Getting rid of engineers, really? I still talk with friends there, they hate to be there.

Pros

- Free toast - Some good people soldiering on in the face of adversity - Ummm... did I mention the toast?

Cons

Where to start - read the plethora of other one star reviews on this site and you'll get the picture. What is absolutely certain is that, from the recent company responses to reviews on this site, this is an organisation that remains in total denial. For instance:- "As a mission-led business we unapologetically put our customers first and we make decisions that we believe will be best for them. That includes our recent focus on sustainable business activities so we can serve customers more efficiently." - If that is your justification for the recent redundancies, how do you reconcile that statement with retaining a senior management structure which requires 4 CEOs? In practice, WorldRemit's junior staff have been made to pay the price for the utter incompetence of their senior management, none of whom have been impacted by the recent cuts. "We are however dedicated to creating an authentic culture where our colleagues can thrive." or "Our aim is to build an authentic culture based on trust" - You might know what you mean by an "authentic culture" but I don't think your staff can relate at all. As for building trust, this is an organisation run by a CEO who has historically recorded meetings with staff in order to play them back to their managers, who has openly joked about his own poor rating on glassdoor, and is universally despised by his staff. If you want to demonstrate "authenticity", try putting accountable names on the responses to reviews on this site (Corcoran replying to this one would be great place to start). "We believe that WorldRemit is a great place to build a career" - Really? Publish your staff attrition data and see if that stands up. Or tell us how many staff have been promoted internally within the last 12 months. Virtually every management role in the company has been hired externally because anyone who is half decent at their job gets out.

Pros

leaving that place was the only pro

Cons

Where to start, what’s important to people, recognition, pay raise, bonus, not in this place they decided not to award anyone a raise or bonus this year despite people working long hours and delivering results, if you like to feel valued this is not the place for you The CEO, is ruling by fear and a blame culture, he announced in one meeting that anyone who writes reviews on here are ‘gaming’ which basically means he refuses to listen to the reality of what’s going on. HR bury their heads in the sand either to scared of the CEO or uncaring to true situation, they were told quite loudly in the employee feedback that their is a real problem of toxic culture but choose to comfort themselves with the scores from the Philippines The staff are leaving in very high numbers so you end up with a company that has no experienced staff and the training is done by people who are new themselves. The department i worked in Finance is so unorganised I am not surprised the auditors have moved into the office The finance control leadership team are intimidateurs arrogants who belittle people and are clearly scared of losing their own job they blame everyone but themselves for the many failings. The bullying blame culture stems from the CEO and in turn has allowed his staff to behave in the same way which has resulted in a lot of resignations, mine included. The company is headed for ruin at this rate, HR needs to stop defending the indefensible and acknowledge the elephant in the room that is the people are overworked, bullied and slapped in the face with no bonus , the board need to step up and remove the tyrant at the top who refuses to accept he is to blame it’s all everyone else’s fault Seriously don’t believe the occasional fake review written by HR on here take it from me, staff turnover is high for a reason, you won’t get a bonus or a pay rise and the finance leadership team is single handily wiping out the finance department with more and more leaving, and one I understand planning legal action. Also the monthly reward and recognition consistently is won by the highest paid most senior staff, a hollow win which I am sure they are proud of back slapping each other. Normally these RN’R are for the hardworking lower level staff and well paid seniors should be exempt, I would send mine back or give it to my team if I was one of those senior people. Don’t join this terrible company they are sinking and fast.

Thank you for leaving a review, it's a shame to hear that you feel you've had a negative experience. We have a recognition scheme based on employee nominations and we hope that everyone uses it to recognise the good work of their peers. We're sorry you felt it only recognised senior talent. Rest-assured, it's set-up to celebrate our employees at each and every level. Our People team introduced 'Recharge Days' in 2020, which were carried into 2021, to recognise the efforts and hard work of our employees. An extra 4 days a year, 1 per quarter, 'Recharge Days' is our way to show our employees that we care about their wellbeing and that we value them. We read all of our feedback and welcome you to reach out to HR directly to discuss your feedback further. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review and best of luck to your future endeavours!
