Squeezing blood out of a rock

Pros

Pays on time and has some good benefits including discounts on AV brands. Middle management are really the stars of the business, workaholics and really nice people.

Cons

Every staff member given a slightly different title despite having the same role, this is possibly to avoid paying them the same salary, which there is a discrepancy. S**t rolls downhill in this company. Huge pressure on the lower levels of staff and unrealistic expectations are put on untrained and new staff. Company uses outdated software which is clunky and doubles the workload for everyone involved. If you love entering the same data in several different places, you will love this! Really, it's soul crushing. Their head office is spread over an entire business park, which is not fully connected by sidewalks, meaning you need to walk on the roadway which has constant traffic to get between buildings. God help you if its the winter and its cold, raining and you need to get to a meeting room in another building. This also means that there is a big disconnect between departments in the business. Parking is a huge problem, cars are triple stacked on some of the buildings. 95% of the head office are white, there is very little diversity at the higher levels of this company.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us, we appreciate your feedback. It is great to see that you valued the variety of benefits we offer, we are continuously reviewing our employee reward package to ensure it meets our employees needs. We take great pride in the fantastic team we have here so were pleased to hear that you were fortunate to have worked with some of our great team members. It was however disappointing to hear your feedback regarding the pressures on other employees and the expectations of new employees. We have recently introduced a new training platform to support our current team members as well as new starters. As a team we also work very closely with Line Managers to ensure that each department has an adequate amount of team members, this is reviewed regularly so that vacancies are filled as soon as possible. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive employer and work with all employees so that everyone can achieve a good work/life balance. With regards to the point raised around the sidewalks on the business park, although not something we can affect directly, we are delighted to confirm that these have been replaced across the business park meaning that moving between offices is a lot easier than before. Thank you again for your feedback

Pros

You gain lots of experience as you work at loads of different sites Some sites have excellent teams which massively affect how good the job is, they encourage learning and development, you can rise the ranks if you are the right kind of person. In terms of the ProAV side FM management is good always there for advice, support. If you don’t like the site, you can ask to not come back. By the sounds of things they find it very hard to fire people as they massively need the techs.

Cons

Some sites have terrible work cultures/micromanagers etc. Shifts can be awful - e.g. you may work 7am-4pm one day then 10am-7pm in completely different sites. I have heard horror stories of false promises of pay rises if you change notice period from 1 month to 3 (and then never get the pay rise) Pay disparity in FST team is large and companies actively discouraged pay transparency which is toxic. The company constantly brags about them winning new contracts and how big they’re growing but wages are stagnant and sometimes as technicians we feel undervalued. AV is massively male dominated and some sites have horrible male dominated cultures where you can hear unpleasant/offensive things. If you read you contract and push back - you can avoid getting screwed over. Work lift balance can suffer as shifts are irregular and long - especially if you have a long commute. No WFH possibilities. Benefits are bad - Aviva private health insurance, perkbox and 4% pension. No Cycle to Work, dental, no contribution matching

Pros

There are still really good people working for the company

Cons

Lack of communication, workload impossible to manage, you are expected to do the job without any overtime payment. proAV does not value their employees at all. This has become even more apparent during the pandemic, with an unbelievable lack of support and flexibility. Such an old school mentality. No bonuses and what I find the most shocking is no matter the situation, there is no sick pay. They do not trust the employees and top management have no clue about what each department does.

Pros

No real pros to speak of other than they pay me on time, Some of the other staff are good people - other managers are always trying to trick you into further workload.

Cons

Constant pressure to do more, You have to fight for a cost of living rise increase, so don't expect any review increase or bonus. Wish I had stayed at my last av company to be honest with you.. grass is not always greener Have been onsite with proav for a few years now, heading up a small team, proav just do not care that the team are struggling with inflation - no rises, no cost of living, just ignored.

Thank you for submitting a review for us, we appreciate your feedback. It's great to see that you valued the variety of work on offer and you worked with some of our great clients. We have a great team here at proAV and we are pleased to see you had a good experience working with your old colleagues. proAV is striving to become an Employer of Choice within our industry and we are continuously reviewing our employee reward package to ensure it is for purpose and meets our employee's needs. We don't know when you left proAV, but this includes the provision of benefits like paid sick leave and our pension provision, both of which have been improved in recent years. Thank you again for your feedback.
