The official customer satisfaction league table for the water industry has been published by our regulators Ofwat, and we are very proud to have come out on top. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the staff around our business who work tirelessly to help customers, whether it’s paying a bill, unblocking a sewer, fixing a water supply issue, communicating essential roadworks or connecting a new property. In the run up to Christmas we're featuring some of the Anglian Water staff who volunteer to help others in need in our region. Natasha Page's day job is ensuring our water is clean and healthy, but once a month she provides companionship for a young person in foster care. She is an Independent Visitor with NYAS - the National Youth Advocacy Service. If you're inspired by Natasha's story why not get involved - visit http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQOyr to find opportunities near you. In our new business plan we're committed to doing more to support customers who find themselves in vulnerable circumstances, through extra staff training, investment in services and promotion of our Priority Service Register. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQOyx
Our reservoirs are important places for communities to come together and enjoy water. We recently caught up with the Grafham Water Sailability group - a programme that enables people with disabilities to learn to sail. Although their sailing season has finished members reflected on the last year and told us what sailing means to them. “The pleasure of learning to sail was something very exciting for me, I never really thought that I would” You can read more stories about how water effects peoples lives at http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQOeG http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQOem
On Monday we were named Utility Company of the Year at the Utility Week awards in London. This is a huge honour - and something that has made us all extremely proud. Thank you all. Read more about this award and the challenge of serving our region in 2018 here http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQOXu

Las week Wisbech had a very special visitor – HRH the Prince of Wales arrived at the town to see some of the amazing work that is going on there to help the local economy grow and prosper. We’re really proud to be a part of this work, helping to put together the town’s 2020 Vision for the future, sponsoring courses at the local college and providing resources and expertise to put on job fairs and other events. Earlier this year we put the town’s inspiring story centre stage at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the annual Responsible Business Awards gala dinner. HRH The Prince of Wales has been a tireless supporter of sustainable business leadership that gives back to both the community and the environment, so it was fantastic to see him in the town and talking with our chief executive Peter Simpson and others about the positive work being done there.
We couldn't serve our 6.5 million customers without the many suppliers, contractors and partners we work with. We recently celebrated these teams at the Anglian Water Supplier Awards 2018 in Peterborough. Over the past year we've worked with some fantastic people so it was a great chance to recognise the collaborative achievements. Well done to all of the finalists and congratulations to those who won an award on the day.
