I have been working at Anglian Water part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Private healthcare
Flexible and understanding to part timers
    Friendly and welcoming
    Sympathetic
    Genuinely care about their customers

    Cons

Not enough car parking for the amount of employees. Unable to get parked sometimes.

Not much room for career progression but that’s more due to the fact people don’t tend to leave.

I have been working at Anglian Water full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic working atmosphere, great opportunities for career and personal growth. The company actively pursues a working environment where everyone cares not only about the work we do and the customers we help but about what matters to its employees. Anglian water makes an effort to help its workforce talk openly about mental health, gender pay gaps and environmental awareness. They actively encourage employees to involve themselves in charity activities and personal growth programs. Its clear that upper level management genuinely care about the wellbeing of their workers and takes steps to make work life as enjoyable as possible.

    Cons

Most employees stay at Anglian water for over 20 years which, whilst being a shining endorsement for the company, means that in certain areas innovative ideas can be met with reluctance from the people who have been doing their work the same way for such a long time. Many projects require an aspect of behavioural change to be successful across the wider business.

    Advice to Management

Open up health and wellbeing training to the wider business - allowing more people to be trained in how to help others with problems such as mental health means employees are more likely to be able to find something they're willing to talk to when they need it.

I have been working at Anglian Water full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great Flexibility, fantastic attitude to mental health, good pay and good job benefits. One of a few companies offering to match a 5% pension contribution

    Cons

Can be stressful at times, and sometimes change isn't managed particularly well. Having said that, I don't think change is generally managed well anywhere.

    Advice to Management

Thanks for treating us like humans. My senior manager is very approachable and CEO acts just like a normal employee.

I have been working at Anglian Water full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Coming from other companies Anglian water is head and shoulders above the rest. There is plenty of support, training and fantastic opportunities to further your career, for the first time in my career I feel more than just a number. Good rate of pay along with several benefits including bonuses.

    Cons

Anglian Water cover such a large area so the travelling can cause issues, there is also limited office space for such an expanding Business.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be better remote access to the network along with some improvements to the field guys scheduling capability.

    Pros

Has real focus on well being and mental health of employees. Back this up with flexible working and working from home options where possible.
Promote moving through different functions to learn the company. Complex industry to learn.
Opportunities to develop if you're willing to take them.

    Cons

Regulated industry, means that things sometimes more slower than you may want.
Some functions work in silos', but do great work, more comms are needed.

    Advice to Management

Get functions speaking to each other.
Board doing good work; keep the momentum up

    Good benefits
    Great culture focused on people
Plenty of opportunities for progression and to get involved with a range of topics
Play a key part in providing an essential service and taking care of our environment
Innovation is core to the business
Committed to driving not just the business but the industry forward in all aspects of the sector

    Cons

Very few, outside pressures can sometimes affect the way we must work but the business and leadership do very well to deal with this, communicate it to the workforce and support people through change
