We’ve won big at this year’s Mates in Mind Impact Awards, scooping the ‘Best overall workplace mental health programme’ for our approach in tackling mental health and demonstrating a wider commitment to improve mental wellbeing across the sector! Introduced to Balfour Beatty in 2017, the Mates in Mind programme aims to promote a culture of positive well-being and provides firms with a tiered training framework to build understanding, knowledge and confidence in tackling mental health.
On International Women’s Day, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the role we all play in creating a more gender-balanced world. Our aim is not to prioritise the success of women over men, but to strive towards a world where every individual has equal opportunities to grow, feel valued and respected, and reach their full potential, irrespective of their gender. We are proud to have made positive strides towards this aim – in the last 12 months, 32% of our graduate hires were women and 43% of promotions into our most senior roles went to women. We also have three female directors on our Board and two female members on our Executive Committee which is so important given the key role female representation in senior leadership positions has in bringing about meaningful change. While we acknowledge that there is much more work to be done, we remain committed to our vision of fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workforce where everyone can thrive. Join us in celebrating International Women’s Day 2023 and help us build a better world for all. #IWD23 #embraceequity
