Another great achievement for our team of experts as we've reopened the M25 seven hours ahead of schedule following the completion of the latest stage of improvement works for the Junction 10 improvement scheme for National Highways. During the closure, the third of this year, we successfully installed 72 concrete beams which will form the second of the new Junction 10 gyratory bridges and lifted two new gantries into place – one being a 45 metre superspan gantry, spanning the entire width of the M25 carriageway. Reflecting on our time at hashtag#UKREiiF last week, it was inspiring to see so many industry leaders and experts come together to discuss and re-energise our approach to the sector's challenges and opportunities. Thanks to Peter Mumford, Director of our Regional Civils business for chairing a discussion on the UK’s readiness to meet the infrastructure demands of the next three decades and Richard Davidson, Work Winning Director from our Regional Buildings business, who joined panellists to discuss the critical role of assembling the right team for success in major infrastructure projects. Some of the other key themes from the week that stood out included: 🔌 Energy - The urgent need for more electricity and a faster opening of the National Grid to support new land and development opportunities. 🤝 Collaboration - The importance of forging stronger and more effective partnerships and having the right integrated project teams to ensure everyone is working to the same shared goals and values. 📜 Planning - Consistency in planning and policy, along with streamlined and more effective consenting for major infrastructure projects, is crucial to attracting and supporting investment. 🌍 Net-Zero - Maintaining momentum in the transition to net zero is essential to address climate change. ❤️ Social Value – Social impact shouldn’t be just a tick box exercise, but instead has to focus on adding real, meaningful value, to the communities we serve.
