We have successfully completed the first stage of strengthening works on behalf of Network Rail on one of London’s major overbridges at Paddington Station thanks to a pioneering ‘mega tent’. This innovative approach created a safe, efficient workspace, allowing over 100 tonnes of steel to be added to the bridge, first built in 1912, to ensure its integrity for future generations. Another really insightful session yesterday at #UKREiiF. Thank you to Professor Sadie Morgan OBE, Kate Willard OBE, Andy Burnham, Julia Prescot, Ann Zhang and James Heath who joined Peter Mumford at 'The Second National Infrastructure Assessment: The Story So Far' to discuss the UK’s readiness to meet the demands of the next three decades. It was great to hear everyone's thoughts around the importance of embedding previous lessons learnt into the infrastructure decision making process and how we should think about infrastructure in a responsible and responsive way to ensure that it's fit for purpose both now as well as the future.
For the second time in a row we've reopened the M25 to the travelling public over seven hours ahead of schedule following the second full weekend closure. This weekend, the team worked around the clock to install 72 beams which will form part of the M25 East Bridge as well as a new gantry, spanning the entire width of the M25 carriageway.
