We had the pleasure of hosting Graeme Dey MSP, Minister for Higher and Further Education, for an exciting visit to our state-of-the-art Dunfermline Campus construction site. During his tour, the Minister got an exclusive look at how we're using the latest low-energy and net-zero construction techniques, ensuring that when the doors open in 2025, the building is net zero ready. The new state of the art campus is situated on a 58-acre purpose-built low-carbon site in the eastern expansion area of Dunfermline and will offer education and training opportunities that cater to the needs of the local community.
We've started on restoring large areas of heathland as part of ongoing works at junction 10 on the M25. Heathland is one of the UK’s most threatened environments and if left on its own it quickly grows into dense woodland and the animals and plants that depend on it disappear. We’ll be carrying out tree and vegetation clearance in several areas across both commons which will allow the heathland to regenerate and help bring back rare wildlife that inhabits it.
Balfour Beatty is proud to announce our new partnership with the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE), a trailblazing Higher Education Institution revolutionising engineering education in the UK! We are working alongside NMITE to develop a unique curriculum that immerses students in real-world working environments, enhancing their practical experience and arming them with critical industry skills and knowledge. Through this partnership, we will integrate industry expertise with academia, offering industrial placements and hosting seminars to provide technical insights into construction and infrastructure. Together, we're inspiring the next generation of engineers.
