Congratulations to our very own, Thomas Hyland, for winning the Britain's Energy Coast Business Cluster (BECBC) Business Person of the Year award at Friday night's ceremony for his work at #Sellafield! “It was an honour to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award, especially when you see the other nominees. To actually win has left me speechless.”
Honoured to announce that our Hinkley Marine project has won an Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) South West Civil Engineering Award in the Collaboration category! The recognition is a testament to our exceptional teamwork with EDF (UK) colleagues, resulting in the successful placement of six Hinkley Point C Heads in the Bristol Channel. Kudos to the entire team for their dedication and excellence. #ICEAward #TeamTriumph
We're thrilled to share the news of Beatty Living Places’ partnership with Groundwork Northamptonshire, a charity working to transform lives in some of the county’s most disadvantaged communities, to provide young people with work experience placements and future employment opportunities. By investing in providing opportunities for young individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds we aim to have a real and meaningful impact and create a lasting, positive change within these communities, whilst simultaneously addressing the skills shortage our industry is currently facing. Through initiatives like these, together, we're building a brighter and more diverse future for young people and the construction industry! Read more about the partnership via the link below.
Yesterday, we lit the Raynesway Overhead Line training towers with pink and blue lights to remember our colleagues who have lost babies. Joining the UK’s Baby Loss Awareness ‘Wave of Light’ campaign, colleagues from across the business have bulbs lit up in the name of their babies who have sadly died, with this act of remembrance aiming to bring a degree of comfort to colleagues, friends and families. #BLAW2022
A key milestone was achieved this weekend as we installed the beams of the new Wisley Lane Bridge, part of National Highways' extensive M25 J10 / A3 interchange project. The new Wisley Lane Bridge interchange will ease congestion and improve safety for drivers, cyclists, walkers and horse riders at one of the busiest junctions on the M25. This vital work of infrastructure will make daily journeys quicker and safer for the surrounding communities.
We are delighted to announce that the The East Leeds Orbital Route has been awarded the prestigious Transport Project of the Year Award at the British Construction Industry awards. The win showcased our capabilities and deep expertise, having delivering the largest infrastructure project that Leeds City Council have undertaken in the past 50 years, on budget and four weeks earlier than the programme deadline. An immense effort by all the project teams involved and a richly deserved congratulation for this recognition.
We believe in investing in talent and improving the UK’s infrastructure skills. We're thrilled to be a partner in the Construction Academy initiative at Fife College, equipping job seekers with essential skills for a career in construction. Our experts are building the college’s new campus as part of the Dunfermline Learning Centre, and working with Fife College to identify employment options on-site throughout the build. Together, we're constructing opportunities. #BuildingFutures #ConstructionSkills
