"I think this time has really emphasised how much the little things we all took for granted matter. Every conversation with a patient now holds even more significance; it might be the only one they will have that day." Dee is a Pharmacist Store Manager at St Paul's in London, and she recently shared what a typical day in her life looked like before the Covid-19 pandemic and how everything has changed since. Despite the everyday challenges, Dee's positivity and passion for care is an inspiration for all. Read her story here:
Victims of domestic abuse will now be able to access urgent support from thousands of pharmacies across the UK through a new codeword scheme, launched by the Government this week. The Ask for ANI scheme allows those at risk or suffering from abuse to discreetly signal that they need help. A trained member of the pharmacy team will then offer a private space where they can understand if the victim needs to speak to the police or would like help to access support services such as domestic abuse helplines. All 2,300 Boots pharmacies will be supporting this initiative, offering additional training for their pharmacy teams. Boots UK Chief Pharmacist, Marc Donovan said: “In addition to the designated Safe Spaces in our pharmacies, we hope with the new codeword scheme we can continue to help people access the support they need quickly, safely and discreetly. This is something our pharmacy teams feel very passionately about, and we are proud of their continued dedication supporting those in need at a time of such extraordinary challenge.”
Boots stores will remain open throughout the lockdown so that you can access everything that you need. Our stores have been voted the safest on the high street, and we continue to lead the way with safe shopping and hygiene. We have more than doubled the capacity of boots.com so that we can get the products that you need (and love) to you as quickly as possible. The team has worked very hard to make sure that there is more choice than ever before available for fast delivery - either to your home, or to pick up safely from your nearest store. We're delighted to share that thanks to the commitment of our customers across the UK, the Boots and No7 recycling scheme introduced in September has now recycled over one tonne of plastic in just under two months! The initiative has seen over 30,000 customers signing up to take part, and they have recycled over 100,000 empty products. We have created over 31,000 quiet shopping slots for those who want to pick up the items and advice they need whilst the store is quieter, or for those who cannot make it to store during the day, such as key workers. "Voted the safest retailer on the high street, the health and safety of our customers and colleagues is the most important thing to us, so we are offering this service to allow customers access to our stores when they are quieter or at times when they are available," Tracey Clements, Chief Operating Officer at Boots UK.
