We announced a third pay rise in 12 months last month with an investment of £2.5m. We increased our hourly pay rates to a minimum of £12.40 across the country and £13.65 in London. These new base rates are industry leading and equal the best hourly pay in the sector. 💸 Ryan McDonnell, our CEO, commented: “As we continue to expand, we are welcoming more customers and attracting more colleagues into the business every day. It’s absolutely right, therefore, that we continue to offer industry-leading pay”. We've announced a £37 million investment in our colleague pay 📣 Following our record-breaking festive period, we’re rewarding our colleagues for their incredible work through our latest pay investment. Starting March 1st, 2024, we are 👇 ➡️ Increasing our hourly pay rates meaning Lidl GB store and warehouse teams will receive the highest rates in the sector, with some colleagues earning up to £13.85 an hour ➡️ Boosting our Nightshift Premium to £3.50 extra per hour ➡️ Introducing a new Bank holiday premium at £2 extra per hour On top of this, we’re the only discounter to reward colleagues with an employee discount (10%), which carries a value of up to £600 per person, equating to an investment of around £20 million a year. Our new entry level rates will be up to 17% higher than the new National Minimum Wage, and this latest update brings Lidl’s total investment in pay over the past 12 months to almost £60 million! Huge news! We’re the first supermarket to introduce 28 weeks full pay for colleagues on maternity or adoption leave! From 1st January 2024, we’re doubling paid maternity and adoption leave, with Lidl colleagues now benefiting from over six months of full-pay, up from 14 weeks. But it doesn't stop there!
