#Diversity and #inclusivity isn't a buzzword for us, it's what we do everyday of the year. It's great to be recognised for it.
We asked colleagues why #PrideMatters to them. Here's what Nina, Engagement and Culture Manager had to say.
We are delighted to let you know that this summer, for the first time, Post Office will be taking part in Pride, the annual celebrations of the LGBT+ community which take place to reaffirm the equality, rights and dignity of the LGBT+ community. This year, colleagues are participating in Pride in London and sponsoring Bolton and Chesterfield Prides, declaring our support for these communities across the UK and beyond. By taking part in Pride, we are not only supporting the LGBT+ community in the UK and beyond, but we are also supporting our colleagues throughout the business who are part of this rich and vibrant community. Take a look at our video which features colleagues explaining why #PrideMatters to them. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ6Tj

Gender Pay Gap has been a hot topic for many organisations in the last couple of months. Our analysis has revealed that the Post Office gap is mainly due to higher paid, senior roles at the Post Office being held by more men than women, an issue which is common in many other organisations. Although our gender pay gap is smaller than the UK average we want to continue working on closing the gap, through coaching and mentoring and piloting a new recruitment process. We want everyone to feel confident that their unique contribution to our business is respected and valued, and that they can reach their full potential. Take a look at what of some our female senior managers had to say about what inspires them as leaders and what they enjoy about their roles. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQzve
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we're speaking to apprentices across the business and in the network to find out about some of the things they are involved in. We caught up with Joanna Giles, apprentice at Ashburton Post Office in Devon to hear about her experience so far. Through the apprenticeship Joanna has also gained a qualification in Business Management and played an incremental role in saving her town's library and fundraising for her local community. Her work has been greatly recognised by the likes of BBC Spotlight and radio Devon where she has taken part in multiple interviews.
