Our teams across the UK have finished the year volunteering and raising money for charity. Savills volunteers from the client accounts, residential and GIS teams in the Wimborne office spent an afternoon helping out at High Mead Farm in Ferndown. The farm is a therapeutic haven run mainly by volunteers, the team rolled up their sleeves to tackle a variety of tasks that keep the farm thriving and welcoming for everyone. Savills employees have been sporting some fine facial furniture as part of this year’s ‘Movember’ challenge in support of men’s health. The team reached their £1,000 fundraising target in just 10 days. Some of them also completed a ‘mo-ve’ challenge clocking up a total of 217km and a team of fundraisers from the Winchester office ran a 15km route along the South Downs Way and raised £630. Volunteers from the Oxford office planted 410 trees on a site owned by St Johns College Oxford. They went on to plant a mixture of native broadleaf trees including Oak, Alder and Small-Leaved Lime trees in 1.2m tree guards with stakes to support them.

Savills has retained its position in the top 50 of the Social Mobility Employer Index 2025 – demonstrating our continued commitment to improving inclusive growth and accessibility in the property sector. The index was created by the Social Mobility Foundation (SMF) – the leading authority on employer best practice – and highlights employers who are doing the most to change how they find, recruit, and advance talented employees from different social class backgrounds. The index recognises companies’ efforts to ensure those from lower socio-economic backgrounds have the ability to succeed. The SMF report praised the strength of our entry routes and early-career support, recognising the breadth of our graduate, apprenticeship and outreach programmes – including school engagement work and partnerships with organisations that broaden access to the sector. This year’s assessment also further underlined the importance of moving beyond activity to clearer evidence of impact, with a continued focus on transparency and fairness in recruitment and progression. Now in its eighth year, the SMF Employer Index is the definitive benchmark of organisations committed to improving social mobility in the workplace. A total of 140 organisations entered this year from across the private, public and voluntary sectors.
Earlier this month, 21 Savills graduates and apprentices swapped their beds for sleeping bags to participate in the Centrepoint Sleepout, a fundraising event aimed at tackling youth homelessness. The team raised £5,729, placing them 9th out of 26 teams. Across all participants, the Sleepout generated £109,117 for Centrepoint, helping provide support for young people facing homelessness. In addition to raising much-needed funds, the evening aimed to increase understanding of the realities of youth homelessness. Through a series of sessions, our colleagues explored: Policy in focus: There was discussion about a current policy affecting young people in supported housing, where increasing their working hours can result in reduced financial support, sometimes leaving them with less income than if they remained on benefits. Real voices, real stories: They listened to helpline calls made to Centrepoint, showing the urgency many young people face when seeking help. Stories of resilience: Speakers shared their journeys from relying on Centrepoint to building independent lives. Thank you to everyone who took part, donated, and supported the team. Your efforts help Centrepoint continue their work, giving young people the stability they need to thrive.
