Savills has ranked first overall in the top 100 Undergraduate Employers for 2023-2024 category in the RateMyPlacement Awards. The firm jumped 35 places since last year to take the highly coveted spot. Now in its 13th year the awards, which were held virtually on 16th March, celebrate the outstanding achievements of employers, agencies, students and universities in undergraduate work experience across the UK. The event was held to announce ‘Best Student Employers’, voted solely by student reviews. The list is compiled based on reviews submitted by more than 30,000 undergraduates, with participants asked to rate their work placements on categories including their day-to-day role and responsibilities, the company itself and the overall experience. Savills has remained in the top 50 since 2016, steadily climbing up the rankings. It is also the only company to have placed first in both the RateMyPlacement and RateMyApprenticeship awards.

Every year, our rural teams combine raising awareness about mental health with fundraising for Young Minds UK. In 2022, the challenge was for colleagues to collectively cover the equivalent distance from Savills Inverness office to its Truro one – 1,900 miles – using sustainable means. The final result meant lots of healthy time away from their desks, and more than £11,000 raised for Young Minds. Savills teams from Chelsea & Earls Court had the privilege of volunteering with @refettoriofelixlondon during their lunch service, where they spent the afternoon serving lunch and getting to know some of their guests. Refettorio Felix’s is an drop-in centre and community kitchen that transforms surplus food into meals to feed vulnerable people in the community. Refettorio Felix’s work is grounded in the social, physical and environmental impact of a shared meal from surplus ingredients. Their commitment to creating a more equal and caring society is inspiring, and we look forward to sharing in this commitment by volunteering and supporting them in our local community.

Savills welcomed school and college students for paid internships for a second year this summer, as part of its collaboration with Career Ready. Internships took place this summer as part of Savills ongoing work with the UK-wide social mobility charity which invests in young people with diverse backgrounds. During their time with Savills, students aged between 16 – 18 joined a variety of teams including agency and investment, development, property management, retail, valuation, business development, social media, public relations, data and planning economics. Throughout the week, they were able to gain a practical understanding of the world of work and by undertaking dedicated projects, attending meetings and engaging with those around them, students were able to learn about the breadth of careers available within the property industry.
