With over 10.8 million portions of fresh fruit and veg enjoyed so far, our Fruit & Veg for Schools programme is truly transforming kids' nutrition. Tesco has provided funding to 411 schools since 14th October 2024 for the purchase of fruit and vegetables. This funding has been used to purchase 10,802,275 fruit and vegetable portions. Portions based on an average adult portion of 80g for fruit and veg, calculated as per the British Nutrition Foundation recommendation. Our Group CEO Ken Murphy spoke at the 2026 Sustainable Foods Conference about why sustainability matters at Tesco, and the need for us and the wider industry to focus our efforts on tackling two interlinked issues. Firstly, supporting farmers and suppliers to grow a market for healthy, nutritious food, while enabling them to build businesses which are financially and environmentally sustainable. Last week, our UK CEO, Ashwin, had the honour of re-signing the Armed Forces Covenant at RAF High Wycombe, alongside representatives from across the Armed Forces community.
