The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Amazon in Feb 2012
Interview
The first step was a phone interview completely done in english, to test your language skills. It was not that hard, it involved all those classic questions about your cv,plus some questions about the ecommerce market, and which direction was taking according to you. The second interview was 1:1, and it followed a rotational scheme, involving 5 different senior managers. That means, you had to talk for 30 min with one senior, and then switch with the next one, while the previous went to interview the other candidates. It took 4 hours and half. The interviews involved personality questions and attitude skills.
The whole process was terrible, since you had to say the story of your life over 5 times in a row, not to mention that you could be really stressed and tired after the second job interview already.
Plus some of the interviewees were really rude and didn't pay attention of what you were saying.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon (London, England)
Interview
Standard behavioral “loop” (multiple back to back interviews) where interviewers probe to see if you are aligned with leadership principles and can adequately speak to them. There were zero surprises, advice would be to be yourself, for these roles they are looking for a particular skillset and if you have it, it will manifest in your honest answers.
