I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2020
Interview
Four 45 minute interviews back to back. Two over tech and two over leadership principles. It was a virtual interview over a skype video call. The tech interviews were over networking and storage.
I applied online. The process took 9 months. I interviewed at Amazon in Sept 2024
Interview
The interview process included both technical and behavioural components. I was asked about my background in IT support, hands-on experience with AWS services (such as EC2, VPC, and S3), and how I’ve applied troubleshooting skills in real scenarios.
On the technical side, I was tested on networking fundamentals, cloud infrastructure, and my understanding of security groups, IAM roles, and monitoring tools. Behavioural questions followed Amazon’s Leadership Principles, where I shared examples from my past roles—especially situations that showed ownership, customer obsession, and problem-solving under pressure.

Question 1
They asked me to explain how I would troubleshoot a situation where an EC2 instance in a private subnet couldn’t access the internet. I walked them through checking the route tables, NAT gateway configuration, security groups, and network ACLs.
I applied through university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Amazon (Hubli) in Sept 2021
Interview
Online interview--
The platform used was Amazon chime, it was good for both video calling and screen share for coding. They stick to to topics sent by the HR for the interview questions. CN an OS (Windowns/Linux) and some troubleshooting questions in both. The questions were of high quality but they repeat too many same questions for too many candidates. This helped some of the candidates. So it was not fair.
However, they should still improve their process of hiring wrt to time management. They should consider sending the shortlist of selected students for further rounds instead of keeping all of them waiting until the final results are released. (because they never reveal if every round is an elimination round or not).
Base Salary and total compensation is great. Its quite easy to hit this offer without much hardwork.
