Interview
One-hour phone interview with a Senior Digital Asset Manager. Briefly discussed the position, then answered questions about my current position, which I tried to apply to as many of the items in the Amazon Leadership Qualities List as I could (this is important to all Amazon positions) and the position I was interviewing for. I was also asked a few behavioral questions, pretty standard, but I don't remember what they were. The interviewer also asked me if I was local to southern California, and I indicated yes, which was a positive. The interviewer was very kind and didn't put any pressure on me, which I appreciated. All in all, I thought I did well.

Interview
Initial phone interview with HR. Video interview with hiring manager. Loop round with 5 others, including hiring manager.
No personal interaction with others, no small talk to get a feel for the team or job. All of that is provided by training sessions with HR, which is nice.

Typical behavioral questions that you can find on the internet… “tell me about a time when…”
What’s frustrating is that if you make it to the loop round of interviews and don’t get the job, you will not be interviewed for other, similar roles, even if you’re just as qualified for them and they might be a better fit. A few more roles came up and I had an immediate phone interview with HR for one and when she went to schedule the next round she said she couldn’t and I had to wait a year before I could apply again. You’d think Amazon would consider someone they just spent several days and hours talking to for another role, rather than making them wait a year to apply again. Amazon is all about efficiency and that isn’t very efficient.
