I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Oct 2020
Interview
Disorganized. One of their recruiters explained the process to me, and then that is totally not what happened. I was told to review the '14 principals' of being an employee, and to be prepared with good answers. I was given an interview time with a hiring manager for this purpose. When the time came, that person was not there, and instead, 2 engineers started grilling me about technical architecture. I think I did somewhat poorly, because I was rattled that the topic was not as advertised. Perhaps, that was part of the screening process?

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2022
Interview
After an initial consideration pass, there is a technical interview with a team technical lead. Following that is a single day of 4 1-on1 interviews conducted by individuals on the team you are interviewing for. Very personal, and a great way to see if you will in fact also enjoy the team you intent on working with.

Question 1
There is a significant amount of questions that do lean on the situational. Memorize the STAR method and study the Amazon leadership principles and learn how to answer those questions in the framework they expect. Each person will be looking for something specific from each of them so try to read the interviewer and cater to their desired metrics.
