Positives: I was contacted by the recruiting manager a few days after I applied online. I jumped on a call with the recruiter for an intro, 30 min call with the hiring manager, and then was asked to come in for a four hour in-person interview. Overall, I thought the team was very nice and the interview process itself was straight forward. They asked me questions about my experience and why I'm interested in Expedia.
Negatives: One of the interviewers discussed frustrations with her job and company processes, lack of empowerment to move projects forward, and was on her laptop working for the first portion of our time together. I was a bit surprised to experience this in an interview loop, which admittingly turned me off a bit.
Now the big negative: Despite following up numerous times with the recruiting manager, I never received a response. Today, almost 8 months later (this is not a joke), I received an automated from Expedia that said "At this time, we have decided to pursue other candidates." I found this automated response very unprofessional. As a partnerships professional, this is the opposite of how I would treat a potential partner even if they weren't the right fit.
