I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at GE (Warwick, West Midlands, England) in Oct 2014
Interview
Started with filling out an application form which included questions such as 'Why do you want to work for GE?'
The next stage was to complete numerical and verbal reasoning tests with the standard sort of questions that can be expected.
After a few days I was invited to a phone interview which was handled by the HR team and lasted approximately 30 minutes. Questions were all competency based such as 'Tell me about a time you worked in a team?' and 'Tell me about a project you have completed at university that you had no knowledge prior about before starting and what was the outcome?'.
After a couple of days I was invited to a face-to-face interview to take place a couple of weeks later. This interview consisted of similar questions from the phone interview, questions regarding my CV and also technical questions. After this interview I heard back 2-3 weeks later.
