Applied through job site and received a call back within a few days from internal recruiter for a 30 minute screening phone call. Was asked general questions about resume, background as well as situational/STAR type questions. Pretty straight forward. Gartner recruiters are extremely professional, and it was a very positive experience from the beginning. Questions give candidates a chance to highlight personality, accomplishments and describe what you are looking for. Follow up phone call in a few days with another internal recruiter to find out deeper questions about drive, motivation and "what excites you about working at Gartner". Every step of the interview goes deeper into the same subjects to see how you respond and how you will fit in at Gartner culture. If you pass the screening phone calls, you will be set up for a series of 2-3 interviews with the local office, culminating in panel interview which consists of a role play sales call. Mostly, I think hiring managers want to see how you interact and how you run a sales meeting. Overall, the process took 6-7 weeks and it was very positive. Do your homework on the company, come well prepared, answer questions honestly and thoroughly. I looked online and it said that Gartner was the 4th hardest company to interview at! I would say that Gartner is thorough, but not necessarily hard if you have the right people skills and emotional intelligence. They want to know that you will represent them well in front of clients, so it is very important that you fit their culture and high level of professionalism. They are only as good as the people they hire. Good luck!
