The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Google (Sandy, UT) in Jan 2008
Interview
The internal recruiter was great to deal with. Once I got through to the design managers though it was different. I had two phone interviews. An hour and a half went by past the scheduled time, which really sucks when you have a current job and you are trying to make time for an interview. I called the recruiter back and she found that the hiring manager was confused about the times and warned me that she was really annoyed about it. When the HM called me it was obvious she was in a terrible mood. The interview was fine, the questions were good design questions about how you might handle different scenarios of interaction, but she was grouchy and had enough of an accent that was hard to understand at times.
The second interview was with a designer. She was obviously talking on her cell phone as she distractedly walked down the street. By this point I honestly didn't want to work with these people. The feeling was apparently mutual.
standard interview screening process with a designer after the recruiter contacted. walked through the project and answered some follow up questions with a few minutes left to ask the interviewer questions.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Google (New York, NY) in Oct 2024
Interview
it was smooth until I reached to the final stage where there were a panel of 6 people to interview me. I get nervous and confused on so many question which I feel like I had their answers.
