I applied for a Project Coordinator position but was contacted by the recruiter and told that I was over qualified for that position, and had instead been put forward for a Project Manager, Laboratory position instead.
During the phone screening interview I answered basic questions about my CV and my salary expectations. I was told I was more than qualified for the position, that the wage might be below my anticipated wage, and that it was non-negotiable.
The in-person interview was one week later and was overwhelmingly positive, with the interviewers frequently complimenting my publication record, accomplishments, and previous employment at respected institutions. The questions were mainly regarding what I knew about the position and how my experiences would apply to this position. The interviewers suggested that I would be put forward for the second round interview. However, I did not hear back from ICON for more than 3 weeks following the interview, and was told that they had gone with another candidate. I emailed asking for feedback multiple times but received no response.
