Assuming completion of the online job application. If a hiring manager and HR recruiter think you are a suitable candidate for the role they will initiate the first steps of the interviewing process:
First Phase: Video Interview
Consisted of pre selected questions of which a video recorded response is submitted. It was the first time that I had done it, but the program allows you to practice with mock questions before attempting to start the core questions. Most were behavioral questions but one or two were technical (perhaps specific to future job duties/responsibilities). In total I had to answer 6 questions. Before answering each question the module does allocates for you around 2 minutes to rehearse or think of a response.
2 step: HR Phone Interview
If your responses resonated well with the hiring manager and the hr recruiter you are moved forward to the next phase which is a scheduled 30 minute phone interview with HR. It was very informal, the conversations related to the job duties / current experiences / benefits package. Mainly, the recruiter wants to gauge your alignment and experience with the position/role.
3 step: 3-4 Hours of meeting individuals on the team and of course hiring manager/ director and HR recruiter
Once the HR phone interview is completed, HR will pass along the green light to hiring manager and team to have you be brought onsite. The goal of this process is for the team to meet you and for you to learn more about the positions and to try and create bonds with your future colleagues. For my interview, it consisted of predominantly one on ones with one or two people in each segment. Each session was different as some individuals has questions prepared and others just wanted to have a casual conversation. Background experiences/skill sets explored. They just want to see if you are a good fit for the team/role and importantly for you to gauge if it is a good fit for you.
After the interview, a debriefing with the group will take place with the HR recruiter. HR will then be in touch with you via phone or email of next steps (should you be given a formal offer).
Every phase of the interview was handled quite well. I was informed at all times of the next steps. Process from start to finish spanned about a month in totality before a formal offer was submitted.
