I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mercer (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2012
Interview
This was through campus recruiting. First round interview was 1 behavioral and 1 case. Behavioral was very conversational, interviewer posed hypothetical situations and asked for responses, nothing like "tell me about a time when..." Second Round included 2 behavioral, 2 cases, and 1 project walk through. Behaviorials was heavy on personal story. 1 technical case very finance heavy, other case higher level strategy. Most cases revolve around healthcare.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical case revolved entirely around finance concepts: capm, wacc, cost of capital/debt, beta, etc.
I took my interview during the pandemic. I had 4 rounds of interviews virtually. The questions were straightforward and not difficult at all.The process has changed where it is now in-person.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to work for Mercer.
It is a four step interview process with a range of consultants of different tenure. The process is relatively average with a little slower turnaround time from recruiter. Heavy focus on behavioral questions with some questions on technical competence.
I applied online. I interviewed at Mercer (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Long process and long wait times. Interview had 2-3 rounds with a test. But the people were great and easy going. Overall positive outlook about the company. The written test was an excel work with a few easy questions
