I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Schiller Park, IL) in Jul 2016
Interview
I received a call from the recruiter asking if I was still interested. I had already gotten a job offer from another company of my liking for the same position, but I thought why not give it a try. She set me up with a date for a phone interview. On the day of the phone interview she asked me basic customer service questions in a STAR format. I completed the phone interview and was moved on to an in person interview with the claims manager and service center manager. I was told to schedule a date within the same week. I schedule the date and a day or two prior to the original scheduled interview date I received a call from the recruiter asking if I could push the interview back another 2 weeks. I had no choice and pushed it back.
On the day of the interview I met with the two managers at the service/estimating center in Schiller Park, IL. They asked me why I wanted to work @ Progressive, What is my current role/position, etc...The interview took around an hour or so. They also informed me that once you started working at Progressive you would not be put into your desired applied position to begin with. So in my case I would not be estimating and appraising vehicles right away. They told me I would have to be trained in how insurance works and answering calls for claims. The asked me total of 6 questions in a STAR format. All based on customer service mostly. I related it all to my field in the auto collision industry.
