Their in-house recruiter asked me to apply for a relatively senior position in their federal government consulting group based on my LinkedIn profile. Received high level of interest and immediate phone interview. Next were 2 face-to-face multiple-interviewer sessions. The first of these was very positive but the hiring manager was not in town, so I had to go back, which too, a couple of weeks to schedule. The more time I spent there, the less interested we all were in pursuing anything. There is nothing specific I can put a name to as to why. It just did not seem that there would be a cultural meshing. They seem to be rather laid back and academic/government in their outlook, while I am highly entrepreneurial and a bit of a maverick. The weirdest thing was when, several weeks after I had gotten an official rejection, the HR recruiter sent me an email wanting to know how the process went. I found this bizarre. Clearly if there was no offer extended, it didn't go as well as it could have.
