As a Graduate Electronics Engineer you will support the design, development, testing, and manufacture of electronic engineering products and systems across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through to production and assembly. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the role contributes to engineering projects and the continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes, and solutions. The position requires effective collaboration with colleagues across the business and the development of professional working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and business performance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles and technical knowledge to support the design and development of electronic and electrical equipment, ensuring solutions meet performance, quality, and safety requirements.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills in the design and layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs), considering functionality, manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware solutions, applying structured programming practices, testing methodologies, and version control processes to support product functionality and continuous improvement.
- Build, assemble, and evaluate electronic and electrical prototypes, using practical engineering skills to verify designs, identify issues, and support product development activities.
- Undertake electrical wiring and assembly activities in accordance with technical specifications, quality standards, and safe working practices.
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses, including thermal management and other design verification activities, to support informed engineering decisions and optimise product performance.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, peers, and managers by participating in design reviews, technical discussions, and project meetings, demonstrating openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and well-structured technical documentation, including reports, specifications, user guidance, and other supporting literature, tailored to the needs of different audiences.
- Maintain technical records, design documentation, and project files to ensure information is accurate, traceable, and compliant with organisational and quality management requirements.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional development by maintaining awareness of emerging technologies, industry standards, and engineering best practices.
Required Skills
Essential:
- Degree (BEng, MEng, BSc or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of fundamental electronic and electrical engineering principles
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Understanding of engineering calculations and analytical techniques.
- Experience of analysing technical problems, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions.
- Demonstrates logical thinking and attention to detail when undertaking engineering activities.
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
- Proficiency in IT knowledge, Microsoft Office applications and standard engineering software.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

- Fluent in English, verbal and written.
Hours and Location
40 hours per week, working Monday - Friday at our offices located just outside of Exeter.
